Escambia Railroad First established as a logging railroad in south Alabama, the Escambia RR also carried passengers occasionally. Eventually based in Century, Florida, the line was used exclusively in Alabama.

Locomotive #14 California Western No. 14 was built in 1924 by Baldwin Locomotive Works for the Lumber Department of the California Fruit Exchange in Graeagle, California and was sold to the California Western Railroad in 1938.

Rayonier - The Last Steam Logger Maynard Laing ventured to Washington's Olympic Penninsula to capture the end of an era, with steam locomotives working the forests hauling out fresh log trains to the mill. The Rayonier mainline was 45 miles long, and featured several serviceable engines including articulated 2-6-6-2's. Two of them are seen on log trains including #14 and ex-Sierra Railway #38.

West Side Lumber Co. Model Railroad Club West Side Lumber Co. was an HO scale (1/87) modular model railroad club, from Rochester, Minnesota. Our layout was loosely based on the now defunct logging company from which we take our name. Rather than portraying the California prototype in exacting detail, we attempted to capture the feel of a logging railroad that could be located anywhere from the Michigan Upper Peninsula to northern California.
